Food and Medicine to Ukraine

The faithfulness and goodness of the LORD does not change even when the world is in upheaval. Messiah’s Compassion has faced several new challenges when it comes to this transition of how to best serve Jewish people during an ongoing war scenario in Ukraine. Gratefulness overflows unto God and the faithful Messianic leaders / volunteers who continue to assist distributing foods and medicines in Kyiv, Odessa, and Zaporozhye. The leaders in Zaporozyhe have online services and home (in person) meetings for believers and non-believers who are seeking answers in the Bible. Despite the threats, the Odessa Messianic leaders have Friday evening and Saturday (Shabbat) services each week in their respective locations. They will be water baptizing new Jewish and Slavic believers in August. The Holy Spirit keeps stirring and drawing the hearts of people even during this horrible war. Odessa Messianic refugees have services in Berlin, Germany as well. The Kyiv refugees group continues to meet via internet for prayer meetings on weekdays. Please pray for safety of all the believers remaining in Ukraine. Zaporozhye and Odessa regions have had multiple rocket attacks in recent weeks. A few weeks ago, one missile hit only blocks away from the Odessa congregation during a service. Over 31,000 immigrants from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus have come to ISRAEL in the past five months! Messiah’s Compassion sends support monthly to Haifa, Israel for assisting these newcomers to the LAND of PROMISE. Meanwhile, I am planning to visit Israel in the very near future.

Visit to Birkenau

While writing this letter from the Czech Polish border today, I recently had the opportunity to visit Auschwitz- Birkenau concentration camp. I cannot begin to describe the horror that transpired for the Jews and other ethnic prisoners. More than one million Jewish people perished in this location during World War II. About 800 Jewish children were imprisoned in this death camp; only 46 survived. Nevertheless, In 1948, Israel’s nation is reborn.

Praises

  • Praises for the new Jewish / Slavic believers in the Odessa Messianic congregations.

  • Intercede for safety of Jewish Messianic leaders/workers, Alexander, Leonid & Oleg in Ukraine & their congregations.

  • Pray for many Jewish people stranded in Berlin, Prague and Warsaw who need documents to immigrate to ISRAEL.

  • Pray for Messiah’s Compassion regarding new ways to assist Jewish people and share the good news of Messiah.

  • Pray for the 31,000 new immigrants who arrived in ISRAEL in the past five months from the former Soviet Republics.

  • Prayer for Gennady, Messianic Jewish believer who needs healing for his eyes and from depression.
