2017 REFLECTION AND THANKSGIVING; 2018 ANTICIPATION OF THE LORD'S HARVEST
6 Blessed be Adonai,
for he heard my voice as I prayed for mercy.
7 Adonai is my strength and shield;
in him my heart trusted, and I have been helped.
Therefore my heart is filled with joy,
and I will sing praises to him.
8 Adonai is strength for [his people],
a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.
These verses (Psalm 28) by David, inspired by the Holy Spirit, give us a basis for Thanksgiving, Joy, and Anticipation for the Salvation of Israel, Jewish people worldwide. David's heart was to see his people be blessed because of their willful obedience to the God of their fathers. He longed for the LORD to shepherd his nation's people, guide them and even carry them when they their energy failed them or when overwhelmed by their enemies. Will we make this our prayer this year in 2018? Will we trust in Him, Who is able to carry us onward into victory even when we have no strength of our own? He is faithful, and can be trusted. Israel still exists today because of the faithfulness of God's promises to them. Likewise, we can base our future salvation and victories ahead on His steadfast love and unending mercies toward us. He just asks us to trust Him with everything in total abandonment of our self ambitions and self-sufficiency. I choose to trust Jesus (Yeshua). "Tis So Sweet to Trust in Him..."
