Nine Candles?

"What's the deal with nine candles during Hanukkah instead seven?"  This question was asked by some the Ukrainian youth that visited the Messianic Youth Rally in Odessa. Alexander, the Messianic youth leader answered that inquistive and sincere question.  He proceeded to give an outlined story of what happened in Jewish history and how Hanukkah first came into being.

Three young people rededicated their lives unto Messiah as L-RD during the prayer time at this event.  During our visitations and other services, we saw three Jewish ladies pray to receive Messiah as their Savior in Odessa; the faithful visitations and compassion food packages have continued to open the hearts of many people. 50 families in Odessa receive help each distribution.

I am writing this blog from Nazareth, Yeshua's hometown. ( We have seen some great times of prayer with the Jewish people here in the Galilee on this trip.)  He walked, worked, attended synagogue, along these very Galilee hills and valleys in this small Jewish village. Today, about 60,000 of Jewish people live in Upper Nazareth and about the same in the older Nazareth- which is exceedingly becoming more Muslim rather than traditional Christian Arab.  While we enjoy our celebration of the Messiah's birth, we dare not forget that most of the folks in His hometown don't really know Yeshua in a personal way. Israel is still approximated 99 percent unreached.  The Good News is spreading though, with Jewish believers in Jesus now numbering over 15,000!  Thanks for all you do to help us!  Have a wonderful "Messiah"-mas from our family to yours!
